About Harrison Heritage House

INNKEEPERS
Sonja and Robert took over the Harrison Heritage House in October of 1999.  Having lived and traveled the world for many years they decided Harrison Hot Springs was the right place to settle and raise their two children Robbie and Laura.  With Sonja's family living in the area they were frequent visitors to this little bit of paradise and when the Heritage House, a well established B&B went on the market they took the plunge and 10 years later are still loving it.

HARRISON HERITAGE HOUSE

Harrison Heritage House is one of the oldest homes in Harrison Hot Springs built nearly 100 years ago.  The House is also know as Naismith House after Colonel Andrew McCormack Naismith who played a leading role in the incorporation of Harrison Hot Springs and was its first mayor.  It has had only a handful of owners and was first set up as a B&B in 1991.  If you are a history buff follow this link for a complete history of the area and the house.

THE PROPERTY
Harrison Heritage House sits on a one acre lot in the heart of Harrison Hot Springs, one block from the beach and backing onto the Miami River.  Its a wonderful oasis of tranquility that while in the center of the Village is insulated from the noise and activity outside.  Steps from all shops and restaurants it is the perfect place to rest, relax and recharge.

OUR ENVIRONMENT

Our Eco Footprint

Harrison Heritage House is committed to protecting the environment and the community in which we live and conduct our business. It is our policy to minimize our impact on the local and global environment by conserving energy, water, and other natural resources; reducing waste generation and recycling and purchasing recycled products whenever possible.

We are committed to day to day practices which will minimize our environmental footprint. i.e.: we recycle glass, plastic, metals, paper and cardboard and we use energy-efficient bulbs and lighting (sensors/timers) whenever possible.

We also implement strategies which we see as over and above the standard. i.e.: we use eco friendly cleaning solutions and make our own eco friendly, chemical free laundry detergent. We are transitioning to darker coloured facecloths, hand towels and linens to reduce the amount of chemicals necessary to maintain them. As linens are in need of replacement we intend to continue this transition.

We appreciate your help in helping us limit our ecological footprint.
