Things to do around Harrison in the Fall

Explore the River

Summer is the perfect time to tour the Harrison River.  Bald eagles and Osprey are still around and by July the Seals are on the hunt for the returning Salmon.  The scenery is amazing and on a jet boat you can get too places few others see.  For more info click on Eco-Tours

Go Kayaking

The summer is a wonderful time to explore a bit of the lake by canoe or head down the Harrison Rive where it tends to be calmer.  When canoeing and kayaking in Harrison Lake its important to remember that it is 60 km (37.2 mi.) long and 9 km (5.58 mi.) wide in spots, glacier fed and is subject to sudden and sometimes strong winds.

Go Biking

Harrison is a great location to do some biking.  There are a few mountain biking areas like Hicks and Bench lake.   For those looking for quieter rides head into farm country and tour the Valley. Better yet combine your bike ride with a few locations form Circle Farm Tours.  A number are only a few kilometres away and are well worth the trip.

Circle Farm Tours

Our area is the home of the original Circle Farm Tour established in 2003. Ranging from Langley to Harrison Hot Springs these self-guided tours offer visitors a chance to connect with their food, enjoy handmade arts and crafts and experience the natural wonders of our valley. For more information go to Circle Farm Tours

Harrison Festival - July 11th to 19th

Enjoy the incredible Harrison Festival.  The program is now in place for the 31st annual Harrison Festival of the Arts - July 11 - 19 and tickets are available.  For complete details go to the Harrison Festival cover page and follow the links. This year tickets can be purchased online.

2009 Harrison DragonFest

The fifth Annual Harrison DragonFest will be hosted by Water's Edge and the Fraser Valley Dragon Boat Club on July 25th, 2009 in beautiful Harrison Hot Springs, BC.  This is a wonderful event and a great reason to spend a weekend in Harrison.

Harrison Lake Poker Run - August 7th to 9th

From the North, South, East and West, every summer, entrants bring their boats, family and friends for a fantastic weekend of fun, both on and off the beautiful waters of Harrison Lake. This is the largest Boating event of its kind in Western Canada and a spectacular event to witness or participate in.

Walk/Hike

Put on your hiking shoes and spend some time in the great outdoors! Harrison Hot Springs has lots to offer for everybody’s hiking ability. Boundless panoramas, glacial peaks, river carved valleys, dense forests, it’s all waiting to be explored and hiked by you….just up the road.. For some hiking ideas click here.

Soak in the Hot Spring Pool

The Hot Springs are Harrison's namesake. The mineral rich hot springs were originally used by the Salish Coast Natives who revered them as a "healing place", arriving by canoe to benefit from their rejuvenating waters. These healing waters can be enjoyed by all at the Harrison Hot Springs Public Pool. For more info on the Public Hot Springs pool click here.
