Harrison Festival Society Concerts
For the past twenty years
the Harrison Festival Society has presented a “Season of Performing
Arts" between September and May.
Each year the Festival puts on an incredible season with performers
ranging from Murray McLauchlan to the Wailin Jenny's making a stop in
Harrison Hot Springs.
The Season consists of ten to twelve shows featuring local, national and
international performers bringing their special gifts and talents to
this small community. The Society's principle venue is the Harrison
Memorial Hall. The "Hall" is not fancy but it is a funky little venue
with great acoustics. Best of all, if you are staying at Harrison
Heritage House the hall is right across the street.

Vishten

Vishten, an Acadian group from Prince
Edward Island, has taken their brand of traditional music and dance to 8
different countries and performed over 1000 concerts over the past 7
years.
Navigators
Friday, February 16

The Navigators play East Coast Celtic music
with the fire and energy of a rock band. Hailing from Newfoundland, The
Navigators are four multi-skilled energetic and entertaining musicians
brought together for the love of music. Each member brings into the fold
talent and years of experience in the East Coast music community. The
band features Arthur O’Brien (vocals, fiddle, guitars), Fred Jorgensen
(vocals, whistles, guitars, bodhran), Andrew Boulos (bass, harmony
vocals), and Paul Murphy (drums, percussion).
Pine Leaf Boys

Louisiana's finest, two-time Grammy-Nominated
Pine Leaf Boys have made a name for presenting their own inimitable
brand of Cajun music with youthful exuberance. Steeped in music since
children and hailing from farms and towns in Cajun country, the Pine
Leaf Boys have preserved the traditional Cajun sound, while allowing it
to breathe and stretch with those who play it.
Mighty Popo

Winner of a Juno Award in 2004, Popo was one
of the few choosen for EMI’s Live 8 DVD for his highlight performance at
the Canadian edition of Bob Geldof’s international Live 8 concerts.
Fathead
Friday, April 9th

Winners of two Juno Awards and numerous Maple
Blues Awards, Fathead returns to Harrison for the first time in over 10
years. It’s been a long steady climb since Fathead’s debut CD in 1995,
and the band has been tearing it up on the North American festival
circuit ever since – winning over fans every time they play – making
Fathead one of the country’s top roots acts. Signed to the world
renowned Electro-Fi Records, their latest release “Building Full of
Blues” garnered them a second coveted Juno Award in 2008.
John Mann

John Mann, a 25 year veteran of the Vancouver
music scene, is best known as front man and songwriter for Spirit of the
West and as an actor on the CBC TV drama Intelligence, playing CSIS
Director, James Mallaby. After 11 albums and countless tours of the UK,
Europe and North America with Spirit of the West, John Mann decided to
return to his stripped down Alt Folk roots. He created a solo project
called Mister Mann and released the album December Looms late in 2007
